Metastases

Describe what it is, any history if possible. Primarily malignant neoplasms that spread to distant sites via blood and lymphatic system. The skull is a common site of metastatic lesions, which may be characterized and visualized on the image as follows: * Osteolytic: lesions are destructive lesions with irregular margins. * Osteoblastic: lesions are proliferative bony lesions of increased density (brightness) * Combination osteolytic and osteoblastic: lesions have a ”moth-eaten” appearance of bone because of the mix of destructive and blastic lesions.
