This assignment asks you to examine this claim. Specifically, using official Electoral Commission data on the leave vote share and turnout for UK local authorities, you are required to: Give a brief overview of the Brexit referendum Compute the correlation coefficient between the leave vote share and turnout for the UK as a whole Compute the correlation coefficients between the leave vote share and turnout in each region of the UK separately Plot scatter diagrams of the leave vote share and turnout for the UK as a whole Plot scatter diagrams of the leave vote share and turnout for each region of the UK separately Discuss the results, including an evaluation of the claim that leave voting areas were more likely to have a high turnout, and anything else you notice If you feel that it is appropriate, you may also analyse the data using different types of graph or descriptive statistics The above should be presented in a statistics report of no more than 1,500 words, including an introduction and conclusion, with any relevant references collected in a bibliography.
