Your emphasis was on policy changes from both the positive

Your emphasis was on policy changes from both the positive and negative perspective within political parties, how does this relate to the relationship between the police and politicians?   Staying focused on policies, can you elaborate as to why policies are changed regarding policing and how they are accomplished. Do politicians meet with representatives of the police prior to attempting to make changes or do they make changes based on what their constituents want? What happens if they attempt to make a change that the police do not want? How do they get the police to agree or they forced?  What positive and negative impacts occur between politicians and police? Is their relationship important on both sides or is it more important on one? If so, which one and why?
